The Trygg Mat Foundation was a Norwegian foundation working on sustainable seafood production. The main focus of the organisation increasingly became illegal fishing and in 2014 it was decided that a new entity, Trygg Mat Tracking (TMT), should be initiated to take on this particular focus. The work of TMT can be found at www.tm-tracking.org. TMT has also taken over the ownership and management of the combined IUU vessel website, www.iuu-vessels.org. TMT is maintaining the webpages of Trygg Mat Foundation for public interest. All contact links from this website will be directed to TMT.

Toothfish poachers Pion and Kily in Singapore0

Posted on March 1st, 2012 in News on IUU fishing vessels

The two CCAMLR IUU listed vessels Pion and Kily appears to be in Singapore. Both vessels are now sending AIS signals.

The vessels are known to change flag and name frequently and the information from the AIS signals is not entirely consistent with information in the official ship registers of IHSF. The Kily seems to have changed name to “RAY” and flag to Belize, judging from the AIS transmission from the vessel.

Verification from Singapore on the vessels’ flags, names, call signs and whether they have landed fish in Singapore would be valuable.

The vessels’ MMSI numbers are:

IUU listed vessel Pion

IMO: 8713392

MMSI: 334700000

Details: Pion from IUU vessel list

AIS track Marine Traffic: MMSI 334700000

IUU listed vessel Kily

IMO: 6607666,

MMSI: 312451000

Details: Kily from IUU vessel list

AIS track Marine Traffic: MMSI 312451000
